Library petition reaches a milestone and campaigners are still fighting
A petition to save Heckmondwike Library has reached a landmark of 2,000 signatures.
And members of the library’s friends group will be out in town again this Saturday to take more names between 10am and noon.
The next full meeting of the group will be held at the library on Tuesday March 17, at 11am.
The first meeting, in January, attracted dozens of people as Kirklees Council began its formal consultation on libraries.
