A LIVERSEDGE fetish clothing designer has created two unique latex outfits for Adam Ant backing singer Georgina Baillie.
Caroline Dacre, who owns Cathouse Clothing in Wormald Street, designed the outfits for Georgina to wear on stage while lending backing vocals to the 80s icon, and also during her band’s own support slot on the tour.
Georgina, the granddaughter of Fawlty Towers legend Andrew Sachs, shot to prominence in 2008 as the unwitting victim of the Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand ‘Sachs-gate’ controversy, which led to both presenters leaving the BBC.
Georgina has since forged her own career as a singer, actress, TV presenter and model.
Caroline’s designs were worn during the tour and on a prime-time Australian TV show hosted by Adam Hill, seen by fans around the world.
“I got an email from Georgina asking if I could supply her with some outfits,” Caroline said.
“I have loved Adam Ant for years – I’m a massive fan. Afterwards, I ran around screaming for a week!”
Georgina ask for ‘fancy-dress’ designs and Caroline duly obliged with two pirate themed latex outfits complete with skull and crossbones detail.
“Fetish clothing is a lot more mainstream now than a few years ago because pop stars like Katy Perry and Rihanna wear it in their videos, “said Caroline, who has had the shop for 19 years.
Caroline has seen Georgina’s performances on Youtube and hopes to go along to the Adam Ant show in Warrington this summer to meet her idol.
Meanwhile, Georgina will continue to use the outfits during Adam Ant’s summer gigs and with her own band Georgie Girl And Her Poussez Posse.
Speaking to the Spenborough Guardian, Georgina said: “I love wearing Caroline’s outfits. They just went down so well with people – particularly the one I wore on television and I hope it gets Caroline more orders..
“Everyone was asking me about it and where I got it from.”
