Linthwaite Leisure Pub Solutions has invested the cash into the Fox and Hounds pub in Bennett Lane, Hanging Heaton, giving it a complete overhaul.

Landlords Neil and Karen Hutton, who have more than 11 years experience in the trade, were approached about running the pub last year.

Neil said: “We had been in Spain for around eight and a half years and when we can back, the owner Craig came and asked us if we would like to take it up.”

The pub, which was closed for five weeks, has been given a major makeover including a new fitted kitchen, pool tables and menu.

Karen said: “They completely gutted the place and knocked down a couple of the walls to open it up.

“We are pleased with what they have done.”

The landlords held its official VIP opening on Thursday.

However, the pub had been open for a week after locals asked if they would open early so they could watch the England games.

Neil said: “We have got on really well with the locals and want it to be a place people can enjoy.”
