Man attacked while walking children back from mosque

A man who was walking three children back from a mosque was hospitalised after being attacked by a gang of men.

The attack happened at 6pm on Wednesday October 8 as the man was accompanying the children from the Kanzul Iman Mosque in Royle Fold, Heckmondwike.

He was walking with the children up Cemetery Road towards a snicket which leads to upper George Street when he was attacked by three men.

He received an injury to his head and face which resulted in hospital treatment.

The suspects are all Asian males.

One man was around 22–25 years old, well-built and 5ft 5ins tall. He wore blue hooded top and had short hair.

The second man was around 22 years old, about 6ft tall, of average build and wore a black hooded top.

The third suspect was around 22 years old, 6ft tall, of average build and wore a brown hooded top

Detective Constable Kris Roberts of Huddersfield CID said: “This was an unprovoked attack which caused significant distress to the victim.
