A man was caught red-handed as he tried to break in to a house.
The suspect was trying to get into the home on Malthouse Court in Liversedge through a ground floor window at around 8.10pm on Sunday, June 5.
But the occupant, a 27-year-old man, forced his unwanted intruder back out through the window.
The suspect then made off down Halifax Road.
He was white, 6ft 2in tall, slim and in his early 30s.
He had very bad acne and scruffy, greasy, dark, curly hair with dark stubble.
He was wearing a long dark leather look style trench coat.
Police Constable Tracy Boucher of the Kirklees Burglary Team said: “Whilst the man did not manage to gain entry to the property, the victim was undoubtedly shocked and shaken following the incident.
“I would appeal to anyone who can help to identify the man in the efit to come forward with information.
“I would also ask for anyone who was in and around the area on Sunday, June 5 to think back to if they saw something suspicious, or who may have seen the suspect in the area either before, or after the incident and get in touch.
“The suspect is described as wearing a long dark coat, which may have seemed unusual as it was a warm sunny day.
“Anyone with information should contact Kirklees CID via 101, quoting 13160240414. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
