Man cut free from car after Cooper Bridge crash

A man had to be cut from his car after a crash in Cooper Bridge last night (Tuesday).

The crash, involving a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi happened on Leeds Road, near the Three Nuns pub in Mirfield, at 7.20pm.

The male driver of the Astra, which was travelling towards Mirfield, had to be cut free from his car. He was taken to hospital by ambulance with suspected spinal injuries. The extrication took around 20 minutes.

The male driver of the Audi, which was travelling towards Huddersfield, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Firefighters from Mirfield and Brighouse attended the incident.
