As he went to pass the man, the suspect was holding a knife and told the victim to hand over his money and phone.

When the victim refused, the man ran off towards Mortimer Avenue.

The man is described as mixed race, around 25-years-old, 6ft 2ins tall, with his hair styled in short cornrows. He was wearing a green bomber jacket, loose jeans and Nike trainers.

Detective constable Nicola Keitch, of Kirklees CID, said: “I would urge anyone who was in the Healey area and saw a man matching the description given to get in contact.

“While nothing was taken from the victim, the sight of the knife left him feeling threatened and we are keen to identify the man involved.”

Anyone with information should call Kirklees CID on 101.
