Man to appear in court after allegedly setting fire to his own flat in Dewsbury
Fire crews from Mirfield, Dewsbury and Ossett were called to the first floor flat in Heron Close, Ravensthorpe, at around 10.20pm.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said that when crews arrived, piles of furniture were on fire in the entrance.

Hide AdTwo crews broke their way into the building, while another crew put a ladder up to the back of the flat to rescue the 23-year-old.
He was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and was later arrested on suspicion of arson.
Residents on the ground floor were evacuated.
Breathing apparatus wearers tackled the blaze using two hose reels and positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear the property of smoke.
The spokesperson said the flat had been left completely gutted and uninhabitable.
