The mayor, who is a Mirfield councillor, is a keen cyclist and will complete his commute wearing his specially designed mayoral cycling shirt, before attending a Citizenship Ceremony at Huddersfield Town Hall.

He said: “Cycling is a very important part of my life and I commute, ride for leisure and sport when I can. By showing that even the Mayor can cycle to work I hope will inspire others to leave the car at home and get the bike out.
