Mother and son beaten up in their Batley Carr home

The incident happened at a house in Batley Carr between 3.30pm and 4pm on the afternoon of Sunday September 7.

The men had gained entry to the property through an open side door, then threatened the victims with a taser and demanded money and gold.

When the male victim tried to fight them off, his mother was punched in the face. He was then hit with the taser which split part of his nostril. He later needed hospital treatment.

The suspects then hit the male victim with a glass vase before he managed to chase them out of the house.

The suspects have both been described as white, between 30 and 35 years old and spoke with Irish accents. One was of average build, clean shaven with a square face. The other was of slim build, with short light brown hair. He was also clean shaven and was wearing a beige hooded jacket.

It’s thought they were driving a silver ‘06 reg Ford Mondeo car.

Det Con Andy Clayton from Huddersfield CID said: “We are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to this unusual, and thankfully rare, type of attack.

“We believe it was a targeted attack and do not think there is any danger to the wider community. Nothing was stolen from the house, but we are very keen to trace these men because of the level of violence used and the use of a taser.
