MP hopeful of Kozee Sleep resolution
Dewsbury MP Paula Sherriff has hinted Kozee Sleep beds could soon have a new owner.
The firm was put into administration last week, while workers were sent home and have not been paid for two weeks.
But yesterday, MP Miss Sherriff said she has been in talks with administrators KPMG and is optimistic a buyer can be found.
She said: “Obviously the first priority is making sure people remain in employment.
“But KPMG are looking for a buyer and I understand there are a number of interested parties.”
She said a meeting that had been planned yesterday for staff was postponed by the administrators until today, when workers are due to be paid.
Miss Sherriff added: “There have been people who work at the factory who currently have benefit needs, and I would urge any of them to contact my office.
“It is a very difficult situation, and we will know a bit more at the end of this week, so let’s hope that a buyer can be found soon and people can get back to work.”
