spen MP Mike Wood made a visit to the Cleckheaton UK headquarters of Ferno, the world leading manufacturer of medical equipment to the emergency services and funeral sector.
Mr Wood was given a tour of the site, based at West 26 Industrial Estate, Stubs Beck Lane, and met staff from the manufacturing and sales teams.
Ferno has been trading for 40 years and is recognised as the global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of emergency patient-handling equipment and mortuary products. The company exports to more than 95 countries worldwide and employs 80 staff at its Cleckheaton site.
Simon Shepherd, sales and marketing director at Ferno, said: “Visits like this are always very positive for us. Mr Wood has a longstanding relationship with Ferno and we value the support he has offered in the past and continues to provide.
“He has had the opportunity to see and hear first-hand what is happening in manufacturing at a local level and, while recent times have been challenging, he recognises that the industry remains strong with many opportunities for growth.”
