MPs pay back cash
MPS Shahid Malik and Mike Wood have each paid back more than £1,000 in overpayments on their allowances.
An inquiry headed by Sir Thomas Legg has published its final report after looking at expenses claims made by 752 MPs and former MPs between 2004 and 2008.
Mr Wood has already paid the full 1,399.83 recommended by the report, for paying a service charge and gas bill twice.
Mr Malik has paid 1,340.56 after exceeding the parliamentary guideline prices on a television, armchair and council tax, leaving 36.14 still to be repaid.
Bradford South MP and sport minister Gerry Sutcliffe has to repay 2,786.14 for claims including mortgage interest, mobile phone calls and a number of miscalculated claims during the five-year period.
