He’s used to ‘behaving badly’ but when Neil Morrisey appears at the Leeds Grand, his character sinks to a whole new level.
Morrisey appeared alongside Martin Clunes in the comedy Men Behaving Badly for many years, but he will be swapping the small screen for the stage when he plays the Machiavellian Fagin in Cameron Mackintosh’s musical Oliver!
The national tour opened last month in Wales and will be coming to Leeds from November 6-December 8 – but tickets have already gone on sale.
“It is 46 years since I appeared in the first national tour of Oliver! and this show has been close to my heart ever since,” said Mackintosh.
“Little did I know then that I would one day be this brilliant musical’s producer and co-owner.
The score is full of Lionel Bart’s irresistible songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got To Pick-a-Pocket Or Two, I’d Do Anything and As Long As He Needs Me.
Morrissey’s West End theatre credits include Guys and Dolls, Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antiques, and Kay Mellor’s A Passionate Woman. Tickets are £25-£48.50. To book call 0844 848 2705 or visit www.leedsgrandtheatre.com.
