Red House Museum has employed two new staff.

Joyce Sugden, from Friends of Red House Museum, has announced two new staff members are being taken on at the museum, which was threatened with closure by Kirklees Council.

Mrs Sugden said: Now things look brighter with more fun events planned for 2014.

“I visited the museum last week and much to my delight, I found in the garden a stunning display of a carpet of snow drops dancing in the breeze. At last spring is possibly here ?”

Mrs Sugden said forthcoming events included Mother’s Day, with refreshments in the cart shed and stalls and a raffle.

And guided tours had also been introduced.

She added: “The friends of Red House would like to thank everyone for their support.”
