A NEW era has begun at Gomersal St Mary’s CofE School.
As part of re-organisation in the Whitcliffe Mount pyramid the school has now become a primary and has a year six for the first time.
Extensive refurbishment has taken place at the school to accommodate the extra class, and the school has also welcomed new deputy headteacher Anna Joyce.
She said: “The children, parents and staff have made me feel really at home and I am excited about some of the fantastic things we have planned for the future.
“This is a year of changes for the school and a time of real excitement.
“We have new classrooms to cope with the increase in pupil numbers; we have a new uniform; we even have a new school name!”
