Non-stop tattooing for cancer charity
A TATTOO artist is planning on inking up to 70 people to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.
Kim Walsh, from the Ink Station in Heckmondwike, is spending two full days tattooing customers with pink or blue ribbons to raise money for the cancer charity.
The tattoo-a-thon will take place on Saturday October 29 and Monday October 31.
She said: “There are 35 places on each day and each tattoo will take 15 minutes. We just wanted to do something for the charity and we’re hoping to raise lots of cash.
“We are female tattooists and a lot of our customers are women so we wanted to do something for a women’s charity, Breast Cancer Care, which has pink ribbons.
“I’m really looking forward to it.”
She said each tattoo would cost £25 with £20 going to charity.
She said: “Customers have said they are going to come in and help out and we’re hopefully going to have some pink ribbon cupcakes too. We’re also doing fancy dress and coming dressed up in pink.
“The Saturday is nearly full but there are still some spaces left for the Monday.”
Kim said she had been tattooing for three years after practising on grapefruit, herself and willing friends.
She said: “I have wanted to do it since I was a teenager. I was always drawing at school.”
