Oldroyd sentenced to 20 years for Peter Brocklesby murder

RICHARD Oldroyd has been sentenced to a minimum 20 years in jail for murdering Peter Brocklesby.

Oldroyd, 20, was also given a three year sentence for possession of an offensive weapon, to run concurrently.

Mr Justice Foskett QC said the fact Oldroyd handed himself into police and his age were mitigating factors in reducing his sentence from 25 years.

“You will spend the same period of time as you have already lived, locked up,” he said.
