Operatic flair and spring fairs
Chairman of Batley Business Association Andrew Marsden has been in talks with Opera North after member Rob Oldfield suggested the idea at one of their meetings.
Since then, Creative Scene have hopped on board with funding and the format will most likely be a Whistle Stop Opera.

Hide AdThis means a famous show is condensed into 30-35 minutes, with around three singers and a narrator.
The event is due to go ahead in February or March 2016 – and some BBA members may even take to the stage themselves.
Mr Marsden, of Brearleys Solicitors, said: “It’s going to happen. But it’s early days and it still needs fine-tuning.”
Though members initially hoped for an outdoor display, they are now considering approaching classic Batley venue the Frontier to host the show.

Hide AdThe BBA would are also calling on anybody interested in crafts and creativity to take up a stall at their upcoming Spring Fair.
This event will take place on Saturday, March 28, adopting a similar feel to their Christmas Fair.
The Spring event will also take place Alfred’s Way in the town centre– which has only been in use since it was closed when functions have been put on by the Association members.
