Bring back the railways

To eliminate congestion the A638 through Cleckheaton needs to be widened to a dual carriage way or alternatively the railways need to be reinstated.

Once Low Moor station is rebuilt in 2015 hopefully more people from the Spen Valley will have access to the trains, but unless the transport links to the new station are improved what’s the point of spending the money on the new station? In 1965 a train journey from Cleckheaton to Low moor took less than 10 minuets.

Its not just passenger journeys we must think about. If the railways through the Spen valley were reinstated how much freight traffic could be moved off our narrow roads. I know it will take time and money but how about a greener environment and a better future.
