Letter: Wedding reception bill has us in stitches
I’m enclosing a photocopy of charges for our wedding reception held at The Mushroom Club in Mirfield on September 4, 1954.
I would like to give all readers of the Reporter Series a good laugh – or at least, read it with almost disbelief at the low cost. Each line of the bill is hilarious!
My grandchildren and I fell about laughing at each line!
Who had the ‘tea’ at 1/- (now at 5p)? One of the grans, I presume.
Anyone under 60 years old now will find it hard to believe. Those were the days!
