Small steps, big thanks!

THANK you to the people who sponsored and donated to the toddle waddle sponsored walk for the Meningitis Trust on April 14, in Mirfield.

The event was a fun way for the under fives to raise money for the charity.

Meningitis kills more under fives than any other infectious disease in the UK and is possibly the most feared by parents.

The toddlers put their best feet first on the sponsored walk around Mirfield to show their small steps could go a long way to raise vital funds. A very big thank you to the families and toddlers who took part in the walk and raised money. Also thank you to Rachel Ramsden who got sponsors for being the duck mascot – seeing a yellow duck walking around Mirfield turned a few heads on Saturday afternoon!

A big hurray to motorists who blew their car horns as the group walked around the town.

Our grand-daughter Charlotte Hallas, a volunteer for the trust, put a lot of work into organising the event. She hopes next time for more publicity and volunteers for this worthwhile event.
