Inspiring women

Five inspiring women who make a difference to their communities were recipients of the first Kirklees Outstanding Women’s Awards on Tuesday.

The awards were hosted by Kirklees Women’s Alliance and were part of a KWA conference held at Dewsbury Town Hall, attended by more than 150 people, to mark International Women’s Day.

Carer award winner was Neelam Hussain, a pupil at Batley Girls’ High School, where she is lead student for achievement. Her ambition is to raise the profile and aspirations of students lacking confidence and belief in their own abilities.
