Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a Batley post office yesterday (Thursday).

Two men entered the premises in Upper Road at 12.45pm and were believed to be armed.

They made off with cash and cigarettes.

Inspector Neil Money of the Batley, Birstall and Birkenshaw Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Enquiries into this incident are at an early stage. I would appeal directly to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact police on 101.”
