A knife-wielding man punched a woman and slashed a man’s arm in Cleckheaton.

Police are appealing for witnesses after these two serious, linked assaults outside and near the George pub in the town’s centre between 4am and 4.45am on Saturday August 23.

The man first punched the 22-year-old woman at the rear of the pub but she did not need hospital treatment.

He then approached a man in a silver Renault Megane on Greenside.

Smashing the car window with what was believed to be a knife, the man then cut the 29-year-old driver’s arm.

“I would ask anyone who saw either incident or who can help us identify this man to come forward and contact Huddersfield CID on 101. Information can also be given in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
