Police appeal for information on convicted sex offender
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a convicted sex offender.
George Doulat was tried in his absence at Bradford Crown Court this week on charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman in Bradford in April last year.
He was convicted on all counts and sentenced to 10 years in prison yesterday (Friday).
The court has issued a warrant for the 56-year-old’s arrest.
Doulat is white, slim, about 5ft 9ins tall, with a dark complexion. He has black, wavy hair and no teeth.
He also has tattoos of a panther’s head and a rose with ‘George’ on his left arm, and tattoos of a swallow, two hearts and a rose on his right arm
He is from Bradford and has various links to the area, but had been living in Pasture Crescent, Filey, recently.
Anyone who sees him should not approach him but should contact the police immediately on 999.
Det Insp Joanne Morgan said: “The sentence Doulat has received reflects the seriousness with which both the police and courts view such offences. It is vitally important now that we find him so he can be made to face the consequences of his actions.
“We would urge anyone who sees him or who knows where he is to let us know immediately. Anyone who is assisting him should appreciate that they will also face arrest and prosecution.”
Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police via the 101 non-emergency number.
