Police hunt Gomersal shop burglars

Police on the hunt for burglars who broke into a convenience store in Gomersal earlier this month.

While the shop in Spen Lane was closed overnight between 10pm on Saturday April 5, and 6am on Sunday April 6, entry was forced via a rear door. Cigarettes, alcohol and money was stolen.

Detective constable Cath Lowdon, of Dewsbury CID, said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area and noticed any suspicious behaviour to make contact.

“Given the quantity of items stolen it is possible that a vehicle was used by those responsible, so again anyone who saw items being loaded in to a vehicle or a vehicle driving off at speed are urged to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Dewsbury CID on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
