Police hunt yob after cars vandalised

Residents of a Gomersal street have been left counting the cost after a vandal damaged several cars.

The incident, in Queen Street on April 29 was captured on CCTV footage which has been forwarded to the Batley and Birstall Neighbourhood Police Team.

In all, nine cars which had been parked outside residents’ homes, had their bodywork scratched by the culprit who then fled.

Police say a man was identified and arrested but had provided a ‘feasible alibi’ and so was eliminated from their enquiries.

Officers are now appealing for more help in catching the vandal.
