Police investigate three deaths linked to drugs

The latest involved in a 47-year-old man who was found dead at his home in Dorset Walk yesterday.

He has since been named as Trevor Barlow.

His death comes just weeks after a man died in hospital after he was found unconscious in Dewsbury Market Hall toilets, on November 14.

That man was Jamie Barlow. An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on November 19.

The Reporter understands Jamie Barlow was Trevor Barlow’s nephew.

A 51-year-old man also died on November 28 at his home address in Dewsbury town centre.

We understand that man to be Philip Holderness.

Det Insp Andy Parr of Huddersfield CID said: “We are investigating three recent drugs deaths.

“Obviously it’s dangerous to take drugs in any event and there is always a risk with these kind of offences.

“There is no indication that there was a bad batch of heroin but as with any drugs death, toxicology will now map the result.”
