Police investigating human remains found in Cleckheaton

Police are investigating the grisly discovery of human remains found in Cleckheaton.

Police close to the scene where human remains were found in Scholes Lane, Cleckheaton.

Officers were called to land just off Scholes Lane around 1.50pm on Wednesday afternoon following a report of the remains being found.

A large police presence was still at the scene yesterday afternoon. A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the remains had been identified as human.

“These will be the subject of further tests.” she said.

“It is too early to confirm whether there are any suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are continuing.”
