Det Insp Phil Little, of Protective Services Crime, said: “On June 23 this year West Yorkshire Police issued a court note which stated a Jamal Malik, 19, of Taylor Street, Batley, had, along with a number of others, been charged with drugs offences.

“Charges against Mr Malik had in fact already been withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service by this date and he was named in error in the release. West Yorkshire Police would like to apologise for any distress caused to Mr Malik and his family.”
