Insp Jenny Thompson, from the Dewsbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “It is likely that this meat is now being sold across Dewsbury. Are you a butcher who has been offered meat for sale at very low prices? Or has someone come up to you in the pub and offered you meat for sale at a price you wouldn’t normally pay?

“If you have I would urge you to stop and think before you buy it – if a deal sounds too good to be true then it usually is.”

Anyone with information can contact the police on 101.
