It will start on Mill Street East, near the junction with Warren Street, on the same day and progress along towards the junction with Savile Road.

The slip road from Vicarage Road to Wilton Street, in front of the Minster, will be closed for eight weeks from July 22nd until September 15.

Stuart Armin, customer operations area manager for Pennines at Northern Gas Networks, said: “We are working hard to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and motorists and we have carefully planned our work so the road closure coincides with the main school holidays when the traffic is less heavy.

“In advance of the work taking place, a letter is being sent to residents, businesses and stakeholders, and notices have been put up in the area. Our Customer Liaison team is also door-knocking residents and businesses in the area to help ensure they are aware of the work.”
