Ravensthorpe flats evacuated as bedroom blazes
FLATS were evacuated during a fire at a sheltered housing complex in Ravensthorpe last night.
Firefighters were called out at around 9pm to Kashmir Court in Church Street where the ground floor bedroom of a woman in her 80s was on fire.
The occupant and two other people on her corridor were taken outside and fire doors were shut to prevent the blaze spreading to other parts of the building.
Watch commander Anthony Woodhead said a fire investigator would visit the scene today to find out what caused the fire.
