PARISHIONERS from a Heckmondwike Catholic church have just returned from a pilgrimage to Rome.
Members of the Holy Spirit Church visited tourist spots including St Peter’s Basilica, the Catacombs, the Vatican museum, the colosseum and the Pantheon.
And they even got the chance to star in A Moment With Mary, a programme broadcast daily from Saint Peter’s Square on local television networks and on the internet, featuring worshippers singing hymns during the Rosary service.
Peter Moreland, who went on the trip, said: “The parish has been on pilgrimages over a number of years, usually to Lourdes but to Rome this year for a change.
“It was a packed itinerary and was a once in a lifetime experience for many.
“It was a privilege to be able to do the Rosary service live on the internet worldwide, to represent both the parish and Heckmondwike too.”
