Rugby league legend to open Dewsbury Beer Festival

A rugby league legend will kick of Dewsbury Beer Festival tonight (Thursday).

Sky pundit and ex-Dewsbury rugby league player Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson will officially open the event at 6pm.

The fourth annual festival has been timed to coincide with the anniversary of Dewsbury Rugby League Club’s Championship victory in 1973.

More than 85 beers, along with a wide range of ciders, perries and bottled beers, are on offer at Dewsbury Town Hall.

The festival runs until Saturday. Admission costs between £2 and £4 – Don’t miss the souvenir 40th anniversary Dewsbury Rugby League Championship pull-out in the Dewsbury Reporter from tomorrow.
