Rush-hour traffic misery in Leeds

Commuters have been facing a frustrating journey this morning as Leeds was gripped by rush-hour traffic chaos.

A broken down vehicle on the eastbound carriageway of the A58(M) inner ring road caused major disruption on a string of key local routes.

Tailbacks stretched as far as the M621, with drivers heading eastbound hit by delays between Gildersome and the city centre.

Slow traffic has also been reported at the A6029 Rein Road, near the Bulls Head traffic lights, along with the M62 J28 roundabout.

Motorists also had to contend with hold-ups between junctions eight and two of the motorway’s westbound carriageway.

Other routes affected by the mayhem included the A61, A64, A65, A643, A647 and A6110.
