Two friends have embarked on the challenge of a lifetime – all in the name of charity.
Sarah Stoakes, from Gomersal, and Sarah Hudson, from Cleckheaton, took part in the London Moonwalk and the Yorkshire three peaks challenge in the space of just a month!
The challenge was to raise money for Walk the Walk against Cancer and the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice charities, and the two have already raised more than £2,000 between them.
Sarah Stoakes said: “I decided to do the Moonwalk through London in my bra and then, in a moment of madness, I also agreed to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks a month later.
“Sarah (Hudson) had done things like this before, but for me it was probably the hardest challenge I have ever faced.
“But it is so rewarding knowing that I have done them now, and it is for a good cause.
“The three peaks was the most challenging – we had sun, wind, torrential rain and even hailstones when we did that!”
“I may do these walks again, but if you’d have asked me what when I’d just finished the three peaks, I’d have definitely said ‘no’!”
