Scholes Co-op ram raid

RAIDERS rammed a Scholes convenience store in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police are now analysing CCTV footage of the raid on the Westfield Lane store at 2.30am this morning, after residents heard a loud smash.

It is thought that two men, one driving a Ford car into a bin that had been placed against the store’s metal shutters.

The men stole packets of cigarettes from the store and drove off towards Wyke.

A spokeswoman for The Co-operative said: “At around 2:30am this morning (Friday 26 August) our Westfield Lane store in Scholes was raided, and a small quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

“CCTV has been passed to the police who are investigating, and we would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.”
