A shop’s takings were stolen in a robbery in Heckmondwike on Friday afternoon.

A member of staff from Jack Fulton was taking the shop’s cash to the Post Office at 5pm when they were approached by two men at the junction of Market Street and Croft Street.

No weapons were used but the victim was pushed and the cash bag was split in the struggle. The men took all the cash, included that which had spilled out on the floor.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch with them via 101.

Both men were white and in their late 20s to early 30s. the first was around 5 foot 10 inches tall, of medium build and was wearing a black bomber-type jacket which may have had fur around the hood. He was wearing dark jeans and trainers.

The second man was 5 foot 11 inches, of medium build and was also wearing a bomber-type jacket with a baggy hood
