Teenagers Lamin Colley and James Sutcliffe turned out for their new club at the weekend having joined from Farsley. They have also signed Sam Robinson from Guiseley.

Sedge boss Billy Miller explained: “We were struggling with injuries a bit but I was able to talk to the managers at the clubs and they let me have some of their talented young players.

“We have a good mix of youth and experience in the side now.”

Liversedge are fourth bottom of the Premier Division. They picked up a vital point from a 2-2 draw with Winterton on Saturday. Miller described it as a ‘stubborn point’ which they ground out against a top six side with contributions from Colley and Sutcliffe.

On Tuesday night Liversedge were given a huge confidence boost with a 2-0 League Cup win against second-placed Bridlington when Liversdge were the better side over the 90 minutes.

The club’s Under-19s moved to the top of the Northern Youth Alliance West Division on Wednesday after beating Brighouse 2-1 thanks to goals by Nathan Foster and Jack Garside.
