SLIDESHOW: Can you identify the buildings in these pictures from 100 years ago?

A historian is trying to identify the areas and buildings pictured in a collection of photos taken around a century ago.

Kit Shorten, a member of Gomersal Moravian Church, has been lent a collection of photos from around 1900 by descendents of the Taylor family, who lived at Red House.

Some of the pictures clearly show the inside and outside of the musem but Mr Shorten is keen to find where the rest were taken and has asked the public for help.

He said: “The photos date from around 1900, I think and are of various buildings and land.

“Some of the photos are of Red House and how it looked at the turn of the century, some of the photos are of properties in Gomersal that are known to be associated with the Taylors, and some are of the Taylors private burial ground.

“However, several of the locations in the photos are unidentified.

“I’m assuming all the photos have Taylor associations, as that appears to be the theme of the album. If so, I’m particularly interested in finding out about the unidentified properties. Where are they? Did they have a name? What was their link to the Taylors? Do they still exist?”
