Slideshow: Flat Cap Five 2013 in aid of the Reporter Series Fund

Runners from across the district helped raise around £550 for the Reporter Series Fund this week by taking part in the Flat Cap Five.

The race, now in its second year, covered a five mile scenic route which finishes at the Leggers Inn at Savile Town Wharf, Dewsbury.

The winner was Nick Hooker of Leeds City Athletic Club, who finished the course in 29 minutes 18 seconds.

The fastest female runner was Jacqui Khoueiry, who finished in 35 minutes 55 seconds.

Joy Good won the prize for best flat cap after adorning her cap with white Yorkshire roses.

The money raised by our charity appeal during 2013 will be shared by Kirkwood Hospice, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, One Community and Asthma UK.
