SLIDESHOW: Fundraising heroes put on their capes and masks for this year’s Children in Need

At Batley Grammar School, secondary students and primary pupils raised an amazing £515.

Pupils from the primary phase dressed up as Superheroes for the day and flew into school carrying tins of buns for a cake sale.

Ironman, Bat Girl, Albert Einstein and members of the police and health services all arrived and supported Children in Need. Secondary students had a sale of cakes and buns alongside the sale of Children in Need merchandise. At Boothroyd Academy in Dewsbury, a special Children in Need assembly was held as well as a fun game of Beat the Goalie alongside bun sales and a pyjama day.

Westmoor Primary School welcomed pupils, staff and teachers into school wearing their pyjamas and onsies and there were even a few Pudsey Bear outfits.

At St John’s CofE Infant School in Dewsbury, children embraced the task of being asked to dress up as ‘Everyday Heroes.’

There were doctors, teachers, police officers, Pudsey Bears and some youngsters even dressed as their dads.

And even a few everyday superhero Spidermen made it into school.

The school raised £278 and also held a special assembly so that the children could talk about why Children in Need is important and understand what their money could do to help others.

Children and staff from Worthinghead Primary School also dressed up as their favourite super heroes to raise £213.

At Thornhill Community Academy, pupils and staff used their imaginations to guess what the teddy bear was called.

They also enjoyed mountains of buns and even more fun with the Splat the Prefect game.

At Lydgate Junior and Infant School it was a day for silly hair with wigs, bear’s ears and traffic light colours all making a welcome appearence.

And at Green Light Traffic Management Ltd, staff had a great day with great people for a great cause.

They raised £100 by dressing up as Shrek, batman and, of course, a giraffe.
