Slideshow: Myleene adds a touch of Klass to Educating Yorkshire school’s awards

A musician and model added a touch of class to an awards ceremony celebrating the success of Educating Yorkshire’s star pupils.

But it was mum-of-two Myleene Klass who was left starstruck as Thornhill Community Academy looked back on an incredible year.

She told the audience that she was a big fan of the show and had leapt at the chance to attend Wednesday’s event at Dewsbury town hall because of her crush on the school’s deputy head Michael Steer.

She told pupils to find what they were passionate about and follow it and she praised staff and pupils for inspiring their audience during the show.

“I will personally hug Mr Steer for all the hard work he puts in for you,” she added.
