Sports club given recognition
A sports club has been praised by a national sports charity for its contribution to the local community.
Dewsbury Doorstep Sports Club was presented with the new project of the year award by StreetGames.
Senior sport development officer at Kirklees Council Neil Jones, pictured, received the award from StreetGames chairman Steve Hodkinson.

Hide AdMr Jones said: “Dewsbury has had some negative press in recent years so it is nice to be credited for something positive. This award will definitely resonate with the young people at the club.“
The club aims to get youngsters off the streets by playing sports, including car park cricket and futsal.
