Steven takes up new NHS role

Steven Michael, chief executive at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, has been appointed chairman of the NHS Mental Health Network (MHN).

Steven Michael, chief executive of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Michael, who has been chief executive at the trust since 2007, joined the NHS in 1985 as a trained nurse and has since had a number of leadership and management roles.

In 2014, under his leadership, the trust was recognised as one of the best 100 places to work in the NHS.

Mr Michael, who will take up the role in June, said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to take on the role of Chair of then MHN at such a critical time in the NHS.

“The MHN does great work in terms of influencing policy and service delivery.”
