Talented cast did classic musical proud

The rain certainly fell on Batley Town Hall on Friday night.

But Carlinghow Theatre Company’s sunny production of Singing In The Rain was enough to make me want to grab my umbrella and do a bit of tap dancing myself.

The sell-out production’s feel good songs, entertaining dance routines and real, on-stage rain was a delight.

Matthew Reather’s fancy footwork and confident vocals made him the perfect Don Lockwood, while Amanda Eyre’s Lina Lamont was hysterical – particularly during her solo number.
Natasha Harper’s sang beautifully as love interest Kathy Selden, and John Murphy’s Cosmo was lovable (and unstoppable, if Make ‘Em Laugh was anything to go by).

The company did the much-loved musical proud, and had the audience singing and laughing along from start to finish.

Rainy weather has never been so much fun.
