‘The last event was so successful’

A taste of what’s to come at a summer music festival takes place this weekend at a mini gig.

Four acts who are on the bill to play at Mirfield Music Festival in May will take to the stage outside Sowerby Brothers Cycles tomorrow.

Alex Quinn and The Man in the Street from Holmfirth will be performing alongside Mirfield acts Jasmine Wilkinson, Ska House and Liberate.

The event is being held to sell tickets for Mirfield Music Festival, an all-day event at Mirfield Showground on May 25.

The festival can only go ahead if enough tickets are pre-sold.

Organiser Donal O’Driscoll said: “The first promotion took place three weeks ago when Mirfield bands Ska House and Propane Penny performed.

“The event went down so well with everybody that Sowerby Brothers shop owner David Sowerby asked us to do another one.”

The gig takes place from 11am to 3pm tomorrow outside the shop, next to Tesco Extra in Huddersfield Road.

Mirfield Music Festival tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for under 18s.

Prices will rise to £8 and £4 in April.

On the gate they will be £10 and £5.

Tickets are also available online at the reduced prices at www.mfest.biz.
