Thieves smashed a car window and stole a rucksack containing money and a laptop, while the driver was sat inside.
A 44-year-old man was in a grey VW Golf in Cleckheaton Road, Low Moor, when the thieves attacked.
They smashed the rear window and took his rucksack at around 1.15pm yesterday (Monday).
The suspects, thought to be Asian men in their twenties, ran off towards a dark coloured Seat Leon waiting nearby.
The victim was shaken but uninjured.
Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: “We believe the victim was targeted by these men and that they were waiting for him to leave the premises.
“It is likely that this vehicle was in the Low Moor area for a time before the incident occurred.
“We are appealing for anyone who might have seen this vehicle in Cleckheaton Road or anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area with a similar vehicle.
“We believe this vehicle drove off down Cleckheaton Road towards Oakenshaw and possibly Chain Bar roundabout.
“We would also appeal to anyone who saw a vehicle of similar description heading in that direction, possibly at speed, at around 1.30pm.”
